Asheville Montessori School

Ms. Michelle's Class

Michelle Toppi - Lead Teacher “Hi!! My name is Michelle Toppi. I am originally from Boston, MA, where I was born and raised. I received my BFA with a major in photography at Massachusetts College of Art. Soon after I graduated, I discovered Montessori!! I fell in love…I truly believe in the Montessori way and have seen how it helps guide children to enjoy learning, love life and be independent!! I received my Montessori training and certification through the Center for Montessori Teacher Education (an AMS accredited organization). This is my eighth year in a Montessori classroom and my fourth year as a lead teacher!! I feel so fortunate to be a part of the Asheville Montessori School Community for the fourth year! Thank you!”

Assistant Teachers

Daniela Stein – Hello! My name is Daniela Stein, but the children call me Ms. Dani. I was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida where I attended Santa Fe College. I graduated in 2009 with a degree in Radiography. Before college I worked as a toddler teacher at the very school I attended from Pre-K through 5th grade. I absolutely love working with children! My first class of toddlers was 6 years ago and I still keep in touch with most of the children I’ve had over the years. The Montessori method is new to me but I am very excited to grow and learn along side your children! Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hiking, working on my vegetable garden, and exploring Asheville .

Elenore Vena – “My name is Elenore Vena. I am originally form Little Rock, Arkansas, but am currently attending Warren Wilson College. My goal is to earn a degree in Visual Art with a minor in Education. I am thrilled to be at a Montessori school after having attended a Montessori pre-school. In the afternoon, I can usually be found in Ms. Michelles class, or running the Enrichment Care Program with Ms. Courtney. When I’m not in class or at work, I enjoy hiking with my dog, reading, art projects, & music.”
